When I say I've been planning my latest video for over a year, I mean it. I've been eyeing zip-tie crown DIYs on Pinterest for a while, and when I saw a celestial-themed cape in Target's 2020 Halloween drop, I was so excited I even preordered it. (I'm the type of girl who loves Halloween/fall... Continue Reading →
iIMAGINEblankโs 10 Year YouTube Anniversary ๐ฅณ
I spent the summer of 2011 immersed in "YouTube Video World" via my stint at the YouTube Creator Institute and the subsequent hours I slaved over turning my channel ideas into reality. So then on July 22, 2011, iIMAGINEblank was born! It's been 10 years, 500+ videos, and A LOT of changing, growing, and figuring... Continue Reading →
Why I’m Not Going to Vidcon
Normally, I'd be all packed up and heading to California in less than 12 hours for VidCon. It's what I've done every summer for the last 6 years! But 2018 is a little different for me because I'm not attending. In part because of situational reasons (if you've watched my videos lately, you know that the last 6-8 months have been a big ol' bucket of chaos for me!), but mostly because I feel like VidCon isn't meant for me anymore.
Perhaps I've outgrown it? Or maybe it's just outgrown me?
Here I talk about how I think VidCon has changed since 2012 when I first started attending, and what I'd like to see in an online video conference in the future.
VidCon 2017 Notes
Iโm a little behind on my VidCon recaps (itโs almost been a month already!), but I wanted to bring you something a little different on the blog today: my VidCon notes! I have a little notebook that I bring with me every year and fill up with notes while attending panels, but one of the... Continue Reading →
My Life: One Year Later
This time last year I opened Gmail to find a truly mind blowing arrival. An email from the YouTube staff letting me know that I had been chosen for YouTube NextUp NYโs inaugural class. The email was sent on March 31st, and it basically had to say โThis isnโt an early April Foolโs joke! You... Continue Reading →
When You Hate the Things You Love
I had a super stressful weekend when it should have been super amazing and exciting. Itโs been a goal of mine and my good friend Alannaโs to make a video together since we now live in the same city. ย And weโve been working on said project for the last few weeks. This Saturday was the... Continue Reading →
Make Me a Robot
I had the privilege of seeing one of my favorite YouTubers in concert over the weekend, and it reminded me once again why I love Tessa Violet so much and how she inspires me. ย So in the spirit of inspiring others, I thought Iโd share some of her wisdom with you. Tessaโs a bit of... Continue Reading →
Working with Brands on Youtube
Hey friends! I've been a little overwhelmed this week with work and YouTube and life in general so my glorious plans for a blog didn't work out the way I wanted them to. But I still wanted to post a little something so I thought I'd talk about my experience integrating a brand into a... Continue Reading →
Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone
When youโre reading this blog, Iโll be on my way to Anaheim, California for my fourth year of VidCon. Iโm excited and nervous as always, but this year holds some even new adventures for this VidCon veteran. For the past three years, Iโve always gotten a hotel room to myself because I go alone... Josh Sundquist is Getting Married! (And Other Thoughts on YouTuber Romance and โShipsโ)
There have been a lot of YouTube relationship revelations this yearโmost of them having a very unhappy ending with all the break-ups and abuse accusations (both sexual and emotional). In fact, before 2014, I didnโt pay much attention to who the YouTubers I watched regularly dated. Usually I would notice simply because there would be... Continue Reading →
