How to Make a Zip-tie Goddess Crown (or How to Get Over Yourself & Just Make a Video)

When I say I've been planning my latest video for over a year, I mean it. I've been eyeing zip-tie crown DIYs on Pinterest for a while, and when I saw a celestial-themed cape in Target's 2020 Halloween drop, I was so excited I even preordered it. (I'm the type of girl who loves Halloween/fall... Continue Reading →

Thoughts on Revisiting Your Childhood

I had the idea to start a 90s-themed craft series on my YouTube channel several years ago, but like most of the topics I'm more passionate about, I get nervous that they'll be too much work for too little reward. But between the start of the my 30s being very childhood-nostalgia centric and giving myself... Continue Reading →

When Everything Goes Wrong While Making a Video…

This week's new video started out a lot longer and different than what ultimately ended up being uploaded: https://youtu.be/4mK7oNWNQCI After seven months without posting videos, I thought it might be fun to create a "What I've Been Up to in 2021 So Far" type of video. Even though I wasn't making videos for the first... Continue Reading →

The Making Of: Chlorine 🌊 | A Visual Poem

https://youtu.be/GavWuguPhwY I’ve been challenging myself to periodically write a poem as part of my daily journaling practice. The prompt "Write about your favorite smell" felt like the perfect moment for a poem so I wrote this: But when thinking about videos for August, I remembered I had some pool footage I shot last summer and... 2020: A Year in Review

Where have we been? And where are we going? That's the subject of my last video in 2020: https://youtu.be/U0TTHBTQa5c I ended 2019 asking the question: “Where do we go from here?” And thought I’d be taking a much needed creative break from the internet. Then 2020 happened. And how was I supposed to process without... Continue Reading →

Why I’m Not Going to Vidcon

Normally, I'd be all packed up and heading to California in less than 12 hours for VidCon. It's what I've done every summer for the last 6 years! But 2018 is a little different for me because I'm not attending. In part because of situational reasons (if you've watched my videos lately, you know that the last 6-8 months have been a big ol' bucket of chaos for me!), but mostly because I feel like VidCon isn't meant for me anymore.

Perhaps I've outgrown it? Or maybe it's just outgrown me?

Here I talk about how I think VidCon has changed since 2012 when I first started attending, and what I'd like to see in an online video conference in the future.

Adventures in NYC!

I had the wonderful opportunity to visit my BFF Alanna in New York City at the beginning of May, and I made sure to vlog along the way to capture some of the fun we had! I got to see so many cool places from the High Line to the Museum of the Moving Image, and I even had the chance to catch up with my friend Josh from TheJoshSpeaks who took me to a local vegan restaurant! All in all, it was a great trip and here’s just a glimpse into it!
