October 2021 Journal Prompts

October means the start of SPOOKY SZN, baby! And that’s reflected in this month’s prompts (because it’s my favorite time of year! Do I say that a lot? Maybe…)

We’ve got the usual smorgasbord of prompt types (i.e. writing, doodle, photo, and free days). And lots of Halloween and autumn-themed prompts to get you in the spirit of the (spooky) season!

For the “Free Write” days I was thinking of switching it up this month and trying my hand at the October 30 Day Creative Sprint which I last completed in 2016. (You can read about my experience and see all of what I created here). While I’m not sure how well I’ll be able to journal AND follow these creative prompts every day in October, I feel like I’ve been training my creative brain for this kind of challenge so why not at least try! The goal is to take 5 minutes out of your day to get the creative juices flowing, not to necessarily create some gallery-worthy piece of art. That’s a big part of my mission with my daily journaling practice already so I think it’s the perfect fit!

You can sign up to receive the daily prompts all through October here if you want to participate too!

Remember if you’re following my 2021 prompts to share what you’re writing/creating with me over on Instagram, and check out my creations on my stories!

Happy journaling my friends!
