Do You Want to Go Back to Eighth Grade?

Do you remember what middle school was like? Or maybe you’re right now in the painful throes of it. For me, eighth grade was 15 years ago. It both feels like forever ago, but also like the awkwardness and embarrassment and true angst I experienced is buried just underneath the surface of my adult life.... Continue Reading →

Is This My Love Story?

This Grey’s Anatomy tribute to Lexie and Mark popped up on my Facebook timeline this morning, and because I’m a sucker for tragic love stories, I watched it. From 2010 to 2015, I was a dedicated Grey’s Anatomy fan. I binged through the seasons that had already aired, had my favorite “ships,” and sobbed during... Continue Reading →

Anger Management (Or How To Go With The Flow)

I’ve set up a new form on my website for you to submit questions or topics you’d like to see me address in a video or blog, and I love reading all your ideas and questions! (If you want to submit your own, click here). Here’s one I received recently: Hey Kaitlyn! I was wondering... Continue Reading →

Wherever You Go, You Take Yourself With You

I’ve been listening to Neil Gaiman’s “The Graveyard Book” on audiobook recently and came across this quote: “It's like the people who believe they'll be happy if they go and live somewhere else, but who learn it doesn't work that way. Wherever you go, you take yourself with you. If you see what I mean.”... Continue Reading →

Why I’m Not Going to Vidcon

Normally, I'd be all packed up and heading to California in less than 12 hours for VidCon. It's what I've done every summer for the last 6 years! But 2018 is a little different for me because I'm not attending. In part because of situational reasons (if you've watched my videos lately, you know that the last 6-8 months have been a big ol' bucket of chaos for me!), but mostly because I feel like VidCon isn't meant for me anymore. Perhaps I've outgrown it? Or maybe it's just outgrown me? Here I talk about how I think VidCon has changed since 2012 when I first started attending, and what I'd like to see in an online video conference in the future.

Adventures in NYC!

I had the wonderful opportunity to visit my BFF Alanna in New York City at the beginning of May, and I made sure to vlog along the way to capture some of the fun we had! I got to see so many cool places from the High Line to the Museum of the Moving Image, and I even had the chance to catch up with my friend Josh from TheJoshSpeaks who took me to a local vegan restaurant! All in all, it was a great trip and here’s just a glimpse into it!

A New Website and Christmas Break!

Hello my friends! I just wanted to write a quick update to let you know that you might be seeing a little less of me on the blog in December. One of my 2017 goals has been to finally turn this blog (Imagining Happenings) into a full-fledged website that curates all my content (videos, writing,... Continue Reading →

A Year of Thanks (and Giving) // A Poem

Happy Thanksgiving, friends! And welcome to the holiday season! This time of year is filled with so many wonderful memories for me, but as someone who suffers from depression, it's also a particularly hard time as I struggle to separate the happiness and nostalgia from the anxiety and the clouds. I tried to capture some... Continue Reading →
