March 2022 Journal Prompts

We’ve made it to March, y’all!

There’s something about March in its blustery madness that’s become more intriguing to me as an adult. I suppose it’s the spring-version of September. We’ve been powering through the dark days of winter, and as the first sparks of spring start to appear, there is relief. But also a little bit of magic. It’s a month of rainbows and hidden gold, planting and pie, and the whisper of memory.

Take some time this month to look around you and observe. As we gear up for spring (and what I’m sure will be a chaotic summer), savor this calm before the storm.

I’ve always loved the saying “If March enters like a lion, it will leave like a lamb” (or vice versa). It’s meant to illustrate the unpredictability of March’s weather (i.e. the weather at the start of the month will not be like the weather at the end of the month). But I think it’s a good metaphor for life in general. At least in my life, rarely do I leave a situation with the same circumstances as I began them. Sometimes it starts difficult and ends easier. Other times it’s the opposite. But overall, I’ve learned that I just need to give myself patience and grace.

So hopefully you can take some of that same energy into March with these prompts!
