When I say I've been planning my latest video for over a year, I mean it. I've been eyeing zip-tie crown DIYs on Pinterest for a while, and when I saw a celestial-themed cape in Target's 2020 Halloween drop, I was so excited I even preordered it. (I'm the type of girl who loves Halloween/fall... Continue Reading →
Trying to CREATE not CONSUME
Wanting to disconnect from social media isn't a new notion for me. I usually have at least a week or two out of the year that I decide I'll delete all my social apps and be FREE. But I never go as far to delete my entire profiles. (Being an internet "creator" means I can't... Continue Reading →
Thoughts on Revisiting Your Childhood
I had the idea to start a 90s-themed craft series on my YouTube channel several years ago, but like most of the topics I'm more passionate about, I get nervous that they'll be too much work for too little reward. But between the start of the my 30s being very childhood-nostalgia centric and giving myself... Continue Reading →
The Making Of: Chlorine ๐ | A Visual Poem
https://youtu.be/GavWuguPhwY Iโve been challenging myself to periodically write a poem as part of my daily journaling practice. The prompt "Write about your favorite smell" felt like the perfect moment for a poem so I wrote this: But when thinking about videos for August, I remembered I had some pool footage I shot last summer and... 2020: A Year in Review
Where have we been? And where are we going? That's the subject of my last video in 2020: https://youtu.be/U0TTHBTQa5c I ended 2019 asking the question: โWhere do we go from here?โ And thought Iโd be taking a much needed creative break from the internet. Then 2020 happened. And how was I supposed to process without... Continue Reading →
Painting a Christmas Unicorn Ornament ๐จ๐๐ฆ
Itโs one of the best times of the year for crafting! (At least in my opinion). So in my latest YouTube video I paint some cute ornaments including a Christmas-themed unicorn, a cozy sweater-wearing cat, and a classic Christmas truck! https://youtu.be/TyEtCP8B8J0 This video was extra fun to make because 1.) crafting and 2.) silly voiceover!... An Autumn Morning With My Cat
Last week's visual poem post was what I imagined when I set out to write and film a poem about fall, but on the same day I also filmed this footage of my cat: https://youtu.be/FardxnOMFFk Finn is one spoiled kitty! Especially now that I'm working from home, he thinks I am here to cater to... Continue Reading →
A Season of Falling | A Visual Poem
Fall has always been one of my favorite seasons because of how full of magic it felt as a child. Anything could happen, you know? I could go back to school and be someone completely different. Someone with friends. Someone who was happy. Someone with hope for the future. Perhaps I don't have the opportunity... Continue Reading →
Creative Journaling Resources
I started journaling as an adult in 2011, during one of my peaks (or should I say pits?) of depression. I had a little journal with beautiful hand-pressed pages that I felt like NEEDED to be written in. So why not start just writing? It's now been 9 years of journaling, and boy, have I... Adventures in NYC!
I had the wonderful opportunity to visit my BFF Alanna in New York City at the beginning of May, and I made sure to vlog along the way to capture some of the fun we had! I got to see so many cool places from the High Line to the Museum of the Moving Image, and I even had the chance to catch up with my friend Josh from TheJoshSpeaks who took me to a local vegan restaurant! All in all, it was a great trip and hereโs just a glimpse into it!
